What does Chinese New Year mean

Chinese New Year is a traditional and official festival in China, and the most important one.

Beside the Gregorian calendar, the Chinese are using Lunar Calendar, which takes the moon's wax and wane period as one month, with a patch named solar terms, a day marking one of the 24 divisions of the solar year, indicating the seasons' milestone, helping the farmers to grow .

The date in a lunar month indicates the moon's and the 24 divisions. Crescent always happens in the 1st day, and plenilune shows in the 15th day.
